ABOUT

HISTORY

Listen To Aylin Records was started in the fall of 2008. After several years of talking about "how cool it would be to have a label!!", I took the plunge.. It all started with me starting a distro, and I got in touch with some fantastic people who opened up their arms, and took me in. After several e-mails with different people, it all came down to one thing; Either start a label and make yourself heard, or just stay in the background and do what you're told.

I got in touch with Andy Maddox (Her Breath on Glass, The Saddest Landscape, The Last Forty Seconds) and we got to talking about everything ranging from records to life, and then he told me that Her Breath on Glass wanted to release a new, 6" record with shorter songs than they had previously released. The rest, as they say, is history..

WHY?

For me, it was never a question "why?" I wanted to do this.. Hardcore, and the DIY-scene, has done so much for me, and it feels extremely good to give something back to the scene. There's a bunch of fantastic bands out there that needs to be heard, and if everything goes as planned, there will be some more of them available on a format other than MP3.

FOCUS

I have always been a huge fan of the DIY-movement all over, and I intend to transform that fascination into doing something good.. I'll always do some sort of special-pre-order-packaging-thing, so that the release will be more than just a slab of vinyl, or just a plastic disc with electronics in them.. It's important to me to hold and feel a product, to know that there's been time, heart and soul invested in it.. People have done it before me, but that doesn't mean that I can't do it, or anybody else can't do it..

The main focus is to push out bands that deserves it.. That's why I started the distro in the first place, and that's also the main reason the label started as well.. It's important for people of the scene to stick together, and to help each other out as much as possible.. It's all about unity and friendship across countries, religion and belief..
